Section 1 –
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
This section provides
an opportunity to reflect on, review and summarise your progress and
achievements through the first seven units. It also offers a chance for you to
take stock of the knowledge, skills and understanding you have acquired, what
you know now, compared with what you knew and could do before you started the
course, and how this has influenced your choice of pathway and your project
proposal.
Throughout our studies, I came to realise that acting is more than just
playing pretend. But it is an expression of
life – our cultures, our worries, our love, our strengths, our weaknesses
and being true to you character. Throughout the course I have opened my eyes
and ears to the skills that will enable me to get into the industry of
acting. For instance, in our every unit from Greek theatre all the way to
love and information I explored skills such as,
Openness: That’s where the emotions kick in and that’s
the key to acting this helped me to change my feelings using Stanislavsky's 4th
wall method when playing Jocasta in the Oedipus
Observing: We observe how
people respond, how they walk and move, how their voices modulate to get into
character in Shakespeare’s Macbeth. We put ourselves under the same
magnifying glass
Vocals:
how the audience should hear every word that you say with diction and
articulation. My projection and pronunciation in love and information snap
the audience’s attention entwining them in the scene.
In
addition to all this knowledge on skills we were able to put these skills to
the test with industry professionals that gave us the opportunity to embark in
other forms of acting skills. Such as The Broken Heart theatre where I
learned to express my physical embodiment to contrast with my character
without using words. This skill helped me to speak a language and engage the
audience without speech. Papa Tango & Broken heart gave us a step back
from acting and made us focus our creativity on what we could write enabling
us to create a script. This opened our
eyes more, in what else we could specialise more in other then just acting
and we ended up publishing our own stories. I feel as if I have also improved
a lot when it comes to remembering lines and have them flow from deeper
within me. Doing repeated rehearsal all day long really help for me to memorise
and keep on track with being truthful to my character.

Section 2 – Project concept (approx. 200 words)
This section provides
an opportunity for you to clearly explain the concept and aims of your project.
This should include what you anticipate producing, the research and ideas that
will support its development and the levels and types of resources that you
will need to complete and present your project realisation within the allocated
timescale. You should include the names of anyone you will be collaborating
with and/or those who will perform in your piece.
For our end of year production,
we are going to something different from the rest of plays that we have done
Love and Information by Caryl Churchill. Love and Information is an episodic play of
short scenes addressing contemporary issues about knowledge, technology and
communication, and our capacity for love. It is in seven sections,
numbered 1 to 7, each comprising a number of short scenes. In the published
script, the scenes are each given a title. In this play Caryl wanted
everyone on to put their own up to date modernised flare to it seeing as
there are no stage direction, character names and no settings at all. This
production is definitely going to put to test our leadership skills, organising
skills and acting skills to the test. In terms of research for this play I think
we will have to watch many versions of the play to figure out how we will incorporate
our very story lines and staging set ups. What types of information there is
and how the gain of information is essential to life? In terms of love how Churchill
used love as human
need
for connection and how information and technology
impact
upon these connections.
In terms of organising skills, we would make
sure to always keep tabs on everyone’s punctuation and areas that need
improvements as a team and individually. Lastly out acting skills are going
to critiqued from the exam boards. So all of the physical skills to speak
with our body’s and not our mouths, using techniques from our previous units
for example Stanlevki’s 4th wall method where we will use an invisible,
imagined wall that separates
actors from the audience.

Section 3 - Evaluation
(approx. 50 words)
This section provides
an opportunity for you to explain how you will reflect on and self- evaluate
your work, as both an on-going activity and at the conclusion of the project.
You should describe how
you intend to record your decision-making and how you will document
developments as the project progresses. This evaluation should reference your
stated aims and be reflective and analytical rather than a description of
actions completed.
In order for me to evaluate the end result of
the performance I will be doing weekly blogs to asses my rehearsals leading
up onto the performance week. Doing weekly rehearsal blogs and end result
blogs of the performance will help me to separate my areas that I needed
improvement in to the areas that I improved with in the end performance. In addition,
seeing as we all worked together collectively as a group I could always ask
for constructive criticism from my team mates. See alternatives that will
help me to improve in my rehearsal to for that production. Making a note of
that feedback given from my peers could also be used to make myself S.M.A.R.T
targets for example projecting you voice the target could be to make your voice been able to reach
the end of the theatre. To conclude self-evaluation would help to reflect on its
performance to measure the strengths and work on the weaknesses.

Proposed research
sources and bibliography (Harvard format)
Record
your intended research sources, both primary (from your own first-hand
experience e.g practical studio research) and secondary (from other sources),
in this section. Sources of research should be as wide as possible and may
include: libraries, museums and galleries, books, film, magazines, TV, radio
programmes, websites etc.
Where
appropriate you should use the Harvard system of referencing. The bibliography should
be continuously updated as the project progresses.

Project action plan and timetable:
|
||
Outline
your planning and organisation over a period of weeks and the activities you
will need to carry out in order to successful complete your project within
the agreed time frame. It is important that your proposed output is realistic
so ensure you consider ambition and time when completing this section. Make
sure you include what you are going to do, how you will do it and by when.
The more time and thought you give to planning your project the more
successful it is likely to be. Remember to include time taken to visit
sources, sourcing materials,
questionnaires, access to workshops, tutorial and peer group feedback
opportunities, as well as when you will incorporate independent study.
